The US is funding dev of SpaceX? Do you mean as a contract? Or as a subsidy?
And can you cite a source please?
the falcon heavy is set to launch today.
if successful, it will become the most powerful rocket in use (twice as powerful as the delta heavy).. as it's the very first attempt, elon musk has said he thinks there's a 50/50 chance of it not blowing up.
so should be interesting.

He is doing it with his own money.
Spacex is a privately held and run company that operates off of private funding and hasn't received a single dime from federal government subsidies. The only government money it receives are from NASA contracts (where it's getting paid to supply the ISS and put satellites into orbit) and defense contracts (where it's getting paid to provide a service). This is unlike the ULA which gets paid 800milion dollars a year simply as a retainer (subsidy).
As usual HH, you have no idea what you're talking about. Turn off Fox News and actually do some research for once. You're fake outrage is getting old fast.

As it's the very first attempt, Elon Musk has said he thinks there's a 50/50 chance of it not blowing up. So should be interesting. The launch window opens after 12:00 EST today so if you want to watch here's a link to the live stream:
i know that some here detested him while others may have simply accepted the reality of who is president.. do you think he is better than you might have thought as a president?.
VW,
Politics is the difference between North Korea and South Korea.
Yeah, it can be tedious and tiresome. But when it comes to how our governments are shaped there are only two options - to engage in discussion or to use force.
i know that some here detested him while others may have simply accepted the reality of who is president.. do you think he is better than you might have thought as a president?.
Yup folks, anyone who doesn't like Trump is a socialist.
No need to keep the thread going. Let's just grab our pitchforks and run these socialists out of town.

I've been very impressed with Trumps ability to get things done. He accomplished a lot of the things he said he would:
. . . oh, what's that - he didn't do any of those things? And he said he would do them in his first year? Well . . . deep state! It's all a deep state conspiracy!!!
my first impressions watching it, coming from a heterosexual male, was that it was just plain ridiculous (big surprise, i know), but i just want to share some thoughts as to why.. regarding the hypothetical scenario of two guys asking each other if they've ever woken up with an erection and other stuff like that: no, that would not arouse me.
i'm talking with a male, which i'm not sexually attracted to, and assuming he's a friend, it's just a casual conversation that i'm mature enough to handle.
the only way this is flirting (and then only maybe) is if one of us is gay.
I think it is also worth noting that the homosexual population at Bethel, percentage wise, is probably much higher than the typical JW congregation. A great way to throw off suspicion from friends and family is to go to Bethel - where not dating or marring is considered a good thing.
And for a lot of young gay JWs - being at Bethel is probably the first time they get to closely interact with other gay men.
so i've been watching the show and really enjoying it.
great to see a trek tv series finally get a reasonable budget.
beautiful costumes, sets, cinematography, action pieces, etc.. really my only complaints are how cg all the ships look and there's a fair bit of stiff dialog from time to time.. what do you guys think of the show?.
"Jump all over the place" . . . hahahahahahahahahaha!
